Organisational culture plays a crucial role in shaping employee engagement within academic institutions, directly affecting productivity, job satisfaction and overall performance. At the University of Venda, there are growing concerns about how organisational culture influences employee engagement, potentially impacting staff retention and institutional effectiveness. This study investigates the relationship between organisational culture and employee engagement at the University of Venda, focusing on identifying critical cultural factors that enhance or hinder engagement. The research will adopt a quantitative approach, utilising a cross-sectional survey design. Stratified random sampling will be used to select 40 employees across different departments and levels at the university, ensuring a representative sample. Data will be collected through structured questionnaires designed to assess perceptions of organisational culture and levels of engagement. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 29.0 will be employed for data analysis, including descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and regression analysis to explore the relationship between the variables. The expected outcomes of the study include identifying specific cultural dimensions that positively or negatively influence employee engagement at the University of Venda and providing actionable insights for improving organizational practices.
