The Perception of Wellness by the Funeral Homeowners in Thohoyandou

This study aimed to explore the perceptions of wellness among funeral homeowners in Thohoyandou, focusing on the factors that shape these perceptions and the strategies that can enhance employee well-being. Twelve participants who were selected using the purposive sampling method took part in the study. Utilizing thematic analysis to evaluate qualitative data collected through semi-structured interviews, the research findings highlighted the significance of access to mental health resources, effective stress management practices, and the importance of work- life balance. Key strategies indicated that fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture and implementing recognition practices are essential for improving employee wellness. This research contributes valuable insights into how funeral homes can leverage their internal resources to create a healthier work environment.
