Abstract

Assessing the management of performance appraisal systems utilised to appraise employees’ performance in an organisation, plays a vital role in enhancing and improving management of performance appraisal systems. Reward systems, Training and development have an integral interference to enhance performance appraisal systems, if it has been implemented in consistent with individual employee’s personal development plan and appraisal outcome or recommendation. The purpose of the study is to develop a framework for enhancing the management of performance appraisal system effectiveness: A case of TVET College in Limpopo Province South Africa, which, in addition, recommend various steps and measures that can be employed to enhance performance appraisal system at TVET College. The findings of the study indicate that the performance appraisal system at TVET College in Limpopo Province has gaps, therefore it requires an enhancement to make an impact on employee’s productivity and performance, hence a framework should be recommended to re-design and develop sound policies such as performance appraisal framework policy, Bonus or Reward Incentives policy, Training and Development policy, Performance Appraisal Framework Workshops policy, and Personal Development plan Policy so that there is continuous workshops, training and development, professional career development, fair and transparent reward incentives that are aligned accordingly.
