About the Journal

Please note: IJSBE is a new journal. It will be published for the first time in 2025. Indexing in DOAJ, Web of Science and Scopus, among others, will be sought. We are looking forward to submissions for the first issue!

Focus & Scope / Topics

The International Journal of Sustainability in Business and Economics (IJSBE, ISSN: pending) is an Open Access scientific journal for current advances in the research on sustainability and sustainable development in business and economics.

IJSBE publishes high-quality research that explores the intersection of sustainability, business practices, and economic systems. The journal aims to foster academic and practical insights into how sustainable development can be integrated into economic policies and corporate strategies. Research published in IJSBE is theoretical-conceptual, empirical-descriptive or empirical-analytical. Sample areas include (but are not limited to) sustainable business models, corporate social responsibility (CSR), environmental economics, green finance, circular economy, sustainability in supply chain management, sustainable entrepreneurship, policy and regulatory affairs, social and environmental impact assessment.

All research papers, whether original research, case study, literature review or technical concept, are

  • rigorously, timely and construcively peer-reviewed
  • freely available Open Access (CC BY 3.0 license)
  • indexed in Crossref and the National Library of Germany
  • assigned with a DOI

The International Journal of Sustainability in Business and Economics is also listed in the journal database (ZDB) of the German National Library, in the German National Bibliography and in the ISSN Portal.

Open Access Journal

Scientific knowledge should be available to everyone – free of charge. We as a publisher are convinced of this. That is why the IJSBE – like all our journals – is an open access journal. Frequency of Publication

The International Journal of Sustainability in Business and Economics is published twice a year.

Articles accepted for publication are published continuously, i.e. in the respective current issue. This form of continuous publication is particularly interesting for authors who want their paper to be published promptly.

Dirk-Siegfried Hübner, Sustainergy Institute, Germany (LinkedIn)

Dr. Dirk-Siegfried Hübner is an enthusiast for sustainability and energy efficiency in practice. In addition to his role as the owner of an energy efficiency consultancy focusing on bakeries and food production, he is a managing trustee of the GREENBAKER Foundation, which certifies bakeries for their commitment to sustainability. As managing owner of the Sustainergy Institute, he also advises the food sector on sustainable business issues. In his PhD at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, he researched the sustainable commitment of bakeries in Germany.
